Tune in Tuesday (13)

Tune in Tuesday is hosted by Ginger at Greads!

One of the guys from The Black Keys has a solo album out. I actually like it. This is my favorite:

I think I was talking about Creedence Clearwater Revival last week, and this week I heard something on the TV and thought the song was originally by them. It turns out the song from the Battlestar Blood & Chrome trailer (and The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo trailer) is by Led Zepplin, not CCR. It's a cover of Immigrant Song. It's been remade by Trent Reznor and Karen O. It's not bad.

Also, here's a bonus "this is going to be stuck in your head all day song" for today:

  1. Trent Reznor was nominated for an Oscar for that song for the movie Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Though I think his work in previous years with The Social Network (which he won for) was way better. Still a talented dude, though.

  2. I have not seen either of those movies. It's a great song.

  3. I'm fairly sure your Tune in Tuesdays are flawless. Also, you should watch The Social Network, even if it's solely to appreciate the soundtrack.

    ALSO DUCK TALES.

And Dan Aurbach sings to my freakin' soul, man. Just, man.

    1. I feel so validated right now. You have no idea.

Life is like a hurricane, here in Duckburg. I can't get over it.

      Same here.

  4. Damn you, I didn't even have to *watch* the Ducktales video. How am I supposed to get my paper done now? How am I supposed to write about important issues of gender representation and Lacanian gaze disruptions if I can't stop singing "Ducktales! Oooo ooo ooo!"
    Hmmm?
    Thanks a lot.

    1. The Ducktales theme was my Blackberry's ringtone for the longest time. Eventually I got tired of it, only for it to come back the next day.

  6. I'm a HUGE Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy fan. I really liked the movie. I LUUUUUUVE Led Zeppelin. It was my mother's idea of lullabies,(along with other classic rock), even my name is based on her favorite group back in the day. When I heard what Trent Reznor did with the song, I felt my heart and brain pause for a second. In my head, if the book could have had a soundtrack while I was reading it, THAT was IT. I couldn't believe it. He got it perfect, IMO. It made an impact for me.

Metion of Zeppelin + GWDT + Ducktales themesong= Sir, you really are THE man! :)

    1. Thank you.

I have a special place on my iPod for Led Zeppelin. My dad is proud of that fact.

I have not read the book or seen the movie, but I really so love the song.
