Book Covers for Guys

I'm getting tired of seeing book covers in other countries that are neater than the ones we have in America.  Especially since I'm a guy and need a discreet cover that's not too girly sometimes. So I'm fixing them. One by one.

I like this (the UK cover):


I hate this (the American cover):

    I generally prefer UK covers to the US! I know it's because of different audiences and whatnot but I guess that means US mass audiences don't have taste, sigh. Anyway, love your guy cover! Would definitely pick that up.

      I agree. The UK covers are better artistically...it's like they actually TRY to find people who care about the covers and the job they have to accomplish sales. Because let's face it a number of us pick up books based on what we see first and read second.

    Ha! Love this feature!

    I much prefer the UK cover for this book, for sure. This publisher markets Oliver's books for a crossover audience so the covers tend to be a little less typically YA than you would usually see (i.e They don't just stick a pretty girl on the cover as happens with a lot of YA)
