I list my Top Five Fictional Crushes after Jacqueline from Book Nerds Across America asked me "Do you get crushes on fictional girls like how I get crushes on fictional guys?" The answer is... not really.
Ohmygosh if I were a dude I would SO crush on Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye from FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST. She's the personal adjutant and bodyguard of Colonel Roy Mustang, and she's loyal and devoted and smart and would take a bullet for him before breakfast.
Oh my, if I were a guy I would be in absolute love with Katsa and Fire, both from Kristin Cashore's Seven Kingdoms books. They're both so badass, smart, and fierce - and they can handle swords, daggers, bows/arrows, and entire armies. So awesome.
"some female characters that I can get behind" -> LOL! It's so funny that you included that in your video. Anyway, I would love to know if you think of the Queen of Attolia (the character). :P I posted about some of the other favorite fictional ladies here (sorry for plugging my own blog - it's easier to link instead of listing them all here).
I love that Hermione is on the top of your list! She's always been a favorite fictional character of mine because I could relate to her well growing up (I, too, loved school and books... I just wished I had some more of her bravery!).
I also completely agree with Asheley's recommendation above... if I were a guy, I would totally crush on Katsa from Graceling!

ReplyDeleteMy sister seems to think she's cool. I've never seen it, though.
