I can't wait to see your review of "Lola"! I didn't realize that Penguin pulled their ebooks from Amazon, though. I thought they had just pulled all of their library ebooks, which was very disappointing to me because I was finally first on the holds list for something I was really looking forward to reading... and then it just disappeared. :-(
I got Lola this past week too. It did't have the same charm as Anna for me. Can't wait to see what you think. I have all the Cassandra Clare books but I haven't read any of them yet.
Oh my lord, I can't freaking get away from the Anna and Lola books. You should've seen the comments on my mailbox yesterday. It was ALL ANNA. So I feel all kinds of pressure now.
If Penguin did that, seriously, that makes me angry. Being sick and Being angry go together as well as alcohol and the internet. And posting comments. Ya know? So I'm backing out of this one with my dignity intact. *wink*
I buy books when I'm tipsy quite often. I usually buy from book depository which takes a couple weeks to arrive, so I'm always pleasantly surprised. (With the exception of a couple "why would I want this?" book selections).
How could I never have thought to rhyme Fama with Futurama?! Now I have a great way to tell nerds how to pronounce my name. Thanks, Adam! (I still recommend THE THIEF before LOLA.)
I just went to Amazon, and the Lola is available on Kindle for $10.99, from Penguin. Are you not in the USA? Or is this new? I'm kind of panicking, wondering if this is a huge anomaly and I need to hurry and buy it before it's gone.
I am in the USA. It does list a price, but if you look under "Book Description" you'll see that it's been removed from being sold as an ebook by Amazon.
I wouldn't worry. It's only Penguin books, they aren't getting rid of books, them and Amazon are only having a hissy fit with one another.

ReplyDeleteThey're quick reads. It really helps when you can't figure out what to read next; it'll clear your head.

I saw that. YOU SHOULD BE FEELING THE PRESSURE.
DeleteOh you saw that, huh? Well, I surely didn't know that. Know why? Because you withheld the comment.
DeleteZING! Oh, snap. Booya. and all of those other little phrases that mean the same thing.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad I'm not the only one. But this is the internet... I am never the only one.
DeleteYeah. I've had a few show up before and I think "What was I thinking?"

ReplyDeleteOh good I said it right. The Futurama thing popped into my head after you told me it rhymed with Obama.
DeleteI'll flip a coin. Heads... Queen's Thief is first.
Queen's Thief! I actually liked Lola (after being totally meh on Anna), but still... Queen's Thief! -M
ReplyDeleteI just finished Queen's Thief yesterday. I went ahead and got the rest of the series.

I just checked again and the alert "book removed" thing-y is gone. Interesting.
DeleteCrazy things are happening... Maybe they resolved whatever the problem was?
