I tried my hand at editing a little. I didn't go crazy with it, and I also read from my notes this time instead of doing it all willy nilly like how I have been. Of course, some of it is spontaneous because I really do just jump sometimes.
Once again: I love book recommendations. I also appreciate feedback about the videos and how to improve them. And any and all comments are welcome. Also, if anyone has advice on what Paris is really like... don't tell me. I'll smell a French person on my own when I get there.
Warning: There are three curse words in this video. Also, for the Divergent fans, I knock it. Again. But only slightly this time.
Oh my, poor pandas!!! Instill think you should read Lola!!
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping someone would drop a Tropic Thunder reference so I could tell them I don't like Ben Stiller. Oh well.
Delete...my stomach turns and I exhale... ;)
ReplyDeleteThis book isn't one like I would normally read but everyone is really hounding me about it. Not really hounding me per se, but since I'm trying hard to read more contemporary (which I don't love), this is everyone's first recommendation. It just sounds way too cute for what I like, but I'm gonna read it. Soon I swear.
You got it.
DeleteI know it isn't one you would normally read, but I'm reading Cinder...
Dude, really? Eve 6? Thanks. It's going to be high school up in my head all day.
ReplyDeleteEve 6's "Here's to the Night" was my prom song. They have a special place in my JUMP heart.
DeleteI got kicked in the head by a crowd surfer at an Eve 6/ Tird Eye Blind concert. Ahh, memories.
DeleteHmm, does the fact that I only heard one swear mean that the other two are regular parts of my vocabulary? Yes.
ReplyDeleteSo you're telling me I have to use other curse words to meet your three curse words per video quota?
DeleteI'm glad that you had positive things to say about this one. I'm also glad it was on your kindle and you didn't have to read it in public. That would have been awkward. I read it at work and I was judged. The hardcover design is just SO EMBARRASSING.
ReplyDeleteAlso, no one doubts your manliness, there's no need to threaten an already endangered species. I'm fairly certain that that's all kinds of illegal. :)
I once read an Ann Coulter book in public. I got weird looks, or approving looks, but mostly I'm still surprised I read an Ann Coulter book.
DeleteI just wanted to talk about pandas, to be honest.
This is a great review! If it weren't for all of the wonderful reviews I saw for this book when it came out, I would not have even considered reading it because of its terrible title AND cover. I think you should read "Lola and the Boy Next Door" because Lola is a completely different character than Anna (she's very quirky!) and her two dads are very awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love my Kindle as well and have started buying most of my books on it because many YA books just don't have covers I want to display on my shelves.
That is exactly why I held off on reading it. But so many people enjoyed it I gave it a chance.
DeleteAlright. I'll read Lola. I can feel the pressure mounting on me right now.
I read a lot of young adult and most of the novels (even though some of them are for both girls and guys) have just the weirdest covers. Like shirtless guys, or really hokey Anna and the French Kiss like covers. So yep, read on Kindle.
2 words: Love. Jump.
ReplyDeleteMore words: You should definitely read Lola now. :) On your Kindle, of course.
Alright, so I just looked and the girl on the cover of Lola has purple hair. I'm sold. I just got it. I'll read it. Drat.
DeleteHOW have I never read your blog before!!? New fave!
ReplyDeleteGet to reading Lola!!
Thank you!
DeleteI am. I am. I just bought on Kindle. It's 5AM in the morning here and I'm shopping online. I love the internet.
hahahaaa I feel like this book was so cute it almost hurt you to read it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, this was a hilarious video. "Falling in love with your best friend jump! It's good for your calves, it's good for your heart."
Wonderful.
I walked away with a cavity it was so sweet.
DeleteI've got too much energy sometimes. I might incorporate jumps into more videos just because I can. Muwhahaha.
Thank you!
LOL I love that you had to emphasize your manly tattoos before ending the video. So glad you enjoyed reading this one! It's one of my favorite reads back in 2010.
ReplyDeleteIt was very good and very well put together. I was surprised by it (considering the cover and the title). I was going to emphasize my manliness by chugging a beer and picking up a girl and holding her up over my head, but neither were available at the time.
Delete*chanting* LOLA LOLA LOLA.
ReplyDeleteWe really think you'll like Lola. :)
Also, EVE 6!
xoxo
Hilarious. Boy, you are entertaining! And I love the jumps. And the panda reference, and your mentioning your tattoos. I wouldn't have noticed them if you hadn't. :P
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love that you enjoyed the book. I think you'll like Lola too. She's eccentric, and the purple hair sold me as well.
Still love your blog!

ReplyDeleteJust discovered your site via Goodreads contest. Good luck on that.Great reviews. Nice to see some books I like reviewed by a manly man.lol. Most of the reviews I read are by women.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Anna and Lola. Please continue with your insightful and witty reviews.
This is quite possibly the best comment anyone has ever left on my bloc. Thank you so much! I don't blush easily, but you totally just made me.
DeleteI usually avoid video reviews like the plague, but I watched this one because Asheley told me too. And it was pretty funny! And a good review. Though I was disappointed that that you didn't even try to say St. Clair's first name.
